Christians and Technology

Christians and technology: And the Lord said,

Amos 8:11-12, “Behold, the days come, — that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD: And they (the people) shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not find it.”

The digital revolution has launched a new era of human empowerment and engagement across the Christian world, it effecting every aspect of our understanding. Never before has there been a more powerful influence, irrespective of man, of country or culture, than the combined effect of today’s technology.

The effects on Christianity are tremendous and in particular are dramatically changing the beliefs and responsibilities concerning our approach and understanding of God’s holy word.

Religious leaders who partake in this new technology are walking a very thin tightrope in their responsibilities to get out the truth of God as prescribes and taught by the Lord Jesus Christ. This new platform has immense value if used by responsible workers, enabling them to reach out to millions, to broaden every man’s understanding and to raise their awareness of Jesus Christ.

But these very same technologies can also cause Christians to doubt the word as written. Today, many Christians feel isolated and disconnected, leaving them vulnerable to the malicious intent of every false teacher.

False teachers have turned to the internet and other technologies; computer terrorist working to overthrow what has been for the past 2000 years well documented truths of scripture.

But alas, in this culture and society, and in many cases, opinion is now understood as fact and the truth is debatable. Technology has become an extremely powerful tool on both ends of the religious spectrum. The whole notion of trusting God by faith is being watered down in man’s appetite and desire for a customized religion, a religion that fits every person’s individual needs and personal world view.

Technology is shaping the faith of many, and there’s no doubt this shift comes about in how we personally consume information. Information right or wrong can shape our perception of God, of His creation, of his finished work, His death, burial resurrection, and of His judgments.

So, beware of the raging of false teachers, of ungodly men who disrupt, who walk in their own lusts, who speak swelling words, and are in a total rebellion against the Lord Jesus Christ.

I personally feel time has just about run out for this age, and the cup of the LORD’S wrath is about to run over in judgment.

We must embrace God’s word, for it will free us from the yoke of bondage, giving us endless opportunities to solve problems, share the Lord’s blessings, and to learn from like-minded Christians.

Think and understand as the Holy Spirit teaches, be a worker for Christ Jesus, unstoppable!  The Lord can and will open up unimaginable opportunities for each of us, some uncharted, but all certain.
