The Jews, The Land And The Promise

The Jews, The Land And The Promise

Do any of the Arab nations have any right to the land of Israel, or has it been promised soley to the Jews? Let’s begin with the covenant God made with Abraham; then let us look at the circumcision of the child Jesus; and what the Lord said in,

Matthew 5:17, “Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill.”

Fulfill meaning to perform, fully; spoken of duty, obligation, as in,

Matthew 3:15, “to fullfil all righteousness.”

In Genesis 17:8-10, The LORD said to Abraham, “I will give unto you, and to your seed (Isaac, Jacob and his sons) after you, the land (Israel) wherein you (Abraham) are a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an EVERLASTING possession; and I will be their (the Jews) God.”

Verse 10, “This is my covenant, which you shall keep, between me and you and your seed after you; every man child among you shall be circumcised.”

So what is this covenant? Jehovah confirmed to Abraham and also to the future patriarchs the land of Israel of which circumcision would be the sign; and when God makes a covenant and said it’s an everlasting covenant, that’s exactly what He means.

Verse 12, “He that is eight days old shall be circumcised among you, every man child in your generations.” The circumcision and shedding of blood of every child born of the Jews sealed in that generation the land covenant the LORD made with the Jews.

Now let’s move forward a few thousand years to the birth of our Lord Jesus.

Luke 2:21, “And when eight days were accomplished for the circumcising of the child, his name was called Jesus, which was so named of the angel before He was conceived in the womb.”

Jesus shedding of blood on the eight day fulfilled forever that part of God’s promise, and sealed forever the Land of Israel to the Jews. So according to God and Scripture the Land of Israel belongs to the Jews alone, and no man, no people, nation will ever remove the Jews from their land of Promised.

The curse:

Deuteronomy 29:25-26-27-28, “Because they = (the Jews) have forsaken the covenant of the LORD God of their fathers. — For they = (the Jew) served other gods, and worshipped them, gods whom they knew not, — And the anger of the LORD was kindled against this land, = (Israel) to bring upon it all the curses that are written in this book. And the LORD rooted = (uprooted) them = (the Jew) out of their land (Israel) in anger, and in wrath, and in great indignation, and cast them into another land, as it is this day.”

The blessing:

Ezekiel 37:21-28, “Thus saith the LORD God; Behold, I will take the children of Israel from among the heathen = (nations) whither they be gone, and will gather them on every side, and bring them into their own land (this began in 1948 and continues to this day): I will make them (the 12 tribes) one nation they all shall have one shepherd (Jesus Christ) they shall also walk in my (Lord’s) judgments, and observe my statutes … I = (God) will make a covenant of peace with them; it shall be an everlasting covenant … And the nations shall know that I the LORD do sanctify Israel, when my sanctuary shall be in the midst of them for evermore.”
